Alejandro Moreno was born and raised in an evangelical family in Mexico City, Mexico.
He was educated at private bilingual (Spanish-English) schools, and graduated with honors from Escuela Libre de Derecho, the most prestigious law school in Mexico (where President Felipe Calderón also graduated). There he studied under several of the best legal scholars in Mexico, including two of Mexico's Supreme Court justices (one in office, and the other now retired), and the current Secretary of Labor and Undersecretary of Legal Affairs and Human Rights (members of the Presidential cabinet.)
Mr. Moreno’s law thesis La objetividad del deber ser is a sharp analytical critique of the ethical subjectivism assumed by most forms of legal positivism, thus defending the biblical teaching of the “law written in the heart." Mr. Moreno’s oral defense of the thesis was awarded honors from the five-member examination jury consisting of top legal scholars in Mexico.
Mr. Moreno's legal practice has been primarily in the area of consultation to various agencies and departments of the federal government of Mexico, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, as well as some of the major financial groups in Mexico.
He spent four years at Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) pursuing MA's in Theological Studies and Biblical Studies. He also studied at the Summer Programme of the Centre for Medieval & Renaissance Studies with Keble College, University of Oxford.
At RTS he studied under world-class biblical and theological scholars such as Sinclair B. Ferguson, Richard G. Gamble, Charles E. Hill, Charles S. MacKenzie, Ronald H. Nash, Roger Nicole, Richard L. Pratt, and Bruce K. Waltke.
Mr. Moreno's term paper for Dr. Ronald Nash's course on Christian Apologetics at RTS ("The Role and Use of Evidence in Reformed Presuppositional Apologetics") is featured at the III Millennium On-Line Magazine and listed on the web sites of several Christian organizations, including the American Scientific Affiliation.
Since his return to Mexico City he has devoted most of his time to teaching Bible and Christian doctrine at various evangelical churches and ministries. He currently teaches Christian Ethics at the Christian Education program of Iglesia Gethsemaní (Reformed Presbyterian Church of Mexico), as well as the evening adult Bible class at Iglesia Jesucristo (National Conservative Presbyterian Church of Mexico).
At the level of formal higher education, Mr. Moreno has lectured on "Family Law" at the Diploma program of the University of Communications; "Contemporary Political Systems" at the Faculty of Law of the National University of Mexico (UNAM); and "Systematic Theology" and "Ethics" at Reformed Theological Seminary of Mexico (the seminary of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Mexico).
Alejandro Moreno also has experience conducting and participating in live radio broadcast shows. For ten years, his father, the late César Moreno, Sr., hosted pro bono an evening radio broadcast on which Alejandro Moreno was regularly featured, and which he conducted in his father's absence. In addition to interviewing experts from various fields and viewpoints, and commenting on the social, economic and political issues of the day, Alejandro Moreno spoke on a broad range of disciplines and issues, including constitutional law, ethics, the history of the Reformation, and the Intelligent Design Movement, always from the perspective of a Christian worldview. Mr. Moreno also hosted a late night radio broadcast show called "The Night of the Soul," presenting spiritual encouragement from Scripture. More recently, along with a former classmate, he co-hosted the program "Citizen Awareness," a weekly late night radio show aimed at educating the public in legal and civic culture.
